Super Thin & Light iPhone Air
The iPhone Air is very lightweight and thin, with just 5.6mm thickness.
It’s as slim as three wooden toothpicks or one Oreo wafer. The iPhone Air uses 80% recycled titanium, making it not only strong but also eco-friendly.
iPhone Air Scratch Test
Apple claims the new Ceramic Shield 2 is three times more scratch-resistant.
The Youtuber tried to scratch the screen with a razor blade, also on the back side of the phone, but there was about a zero scratch.

iPhone Air Anti-Reflective Coating Test
Apple also added a new anti-reflective layer in the iPhone 17 series. At the time of the side-by-side test, the iPhone Air showed a clearly displayed individual LED lights without any reflection. Hence, Apple still wins in anti-reflection quality.
iPhone Air Burn Test
The rear side has a soft-touch engrave glass panel with the shiny Apple logo, which is totally unscratched at the time of test. The camera lenses are also intact with razor blades, and the rear microphone is protected with an IP68 water-resistant grill while audio is limited, with only a mono speaker.
Now, at the time of burning with a lighter, the result was shocking, as the full body was zero heat produced and totally intact without any smoke impression over the body. The oleophobic coating on the iPhone Air display was unaffected, and touch and screen clarity remained intact.

After all the experimentation with the hand, the YouTuber went to extremes to find the exact force needed to break the iPhone Air:
- At 73 lbs → no problem.
- At 120 lbs → still fine.
- At 171 lbs → creaks, but screen still on.
- At 200 lbs → unbelievably intact.
- At 216 lbs (98 kg) → finally bent and broke, but not separated.
Result:
- Back glass = still intact.
- Front glass = shattered below the volume button.
- Frame = nearly impossible to bend by hand.
